Guatemala was amazing! I know that everyone who joined us had a blast. We had so much fun in Antigua and Panajachel. Guatemala, was different from anything we'd ever seen before.
 

I thought that both projects are great and they seem to be thriving.  We had a great time with Teresa at open Windows in Duenas, she cooked us an amazing meal for lunch, and then the group helped the kids with their homework and reading.

Emma was able to give out her letters and packets, which all the kids loved.  It was great because the kids were learning about North America while we were there. Teresa also gave us a tour of Duenas, and showed us where the migrant workers lived which was so eye-opening and sad, but at the same time it was a really good experience for all of us.

Teresa was so nice and welcoming and I love what she is doing there.
 

Our group loved Panajachel, we shopped, ate , and had so much fun.  We went to Mayan Families and met Sharon, who like Teresa, is incredible. We distributed our sewing machines to girls who (shockingly) were my age or younger and they were so grateful.  We also distributed chickens (which I found to be a very difficult but fun task) to Mayan women and children. We gave out kits that contained supplies for newborns, clothing, shoes, and also blankets.

While we were at Mayan Families my sisters and I decided to put a little girl through school and my mom is sponsoring her twin brother. 

Another member of our group is sponsoring their older sister, the next day we went to their house to see the conditions they lived in and what else we could help them with, I'm hoping that we can stay in touch.

The trip was amazing, and as much as I'm glad to be back sleeping in my own bed I cannot wait to go again!!!!
